Q: What made you interested in pursuing Videography as a career?
Tori Segura (TS): Will Smith. Jk, but not really! Haha! Film has become such a great passion of mine and it all started with an episode of Fresh Prince of Bellaire! Now, I’m proud to be a videographer for NMCO and I love to see myself grow stronger every day.
Q: How does commercial videography differ from other videography?
TS: Going out to film different project ideas and commercials for various clients is always fun for me. You meet these clients that need you to understand them and their vision and give them comfort in knowing they are getting the work they’ve asked for. The best way I can describe it is as if they build the frame to a puzzle and us creatives get to surprise them with the rest of the puzzle pieces put together neatly inside!
Q: How do you think social media is changing video?
TS: I think social media has changed the game for commercial and marketing, but it’s great that anyone these days can film anything they want and share it with the world. I probably wouldn’t have traveled as much as I have if not for people who have shared their own experiences, but not everyone knows how to attract the correct target audience. That’s where we come in! Your friendly neighborhood creative agency to the rescue!
Q: What do you love about working at a creative agency such as NMCO?
TS: I love the chances we get sometimes when a client trusts us enough to take care of their business. We’re smart people and we care about your money just as much as you care about our quality skills. I do also love though when a client has an amazing project idea! Then, I’m just so excited to get started on it and have them watch it come to life.
Q: Top 3 favorite movies?
TS: Too difficult! I’ll choose from my 2019 top fav list!
- – Parasite: Love me a good production set with attention to color scheme and safety!
- – Joker: Those dance moves!
- -The Irishman: I don’t care what anyone says, I thought the length of that masterpiece was a perf amount of time!
Q: What’s your approach to video production at NMCO?
TS: Organization is key. Before we even begin to film, we need to prep for everything! I am just one woman, so my team is my strength and together, we go down the checklist of what needs to get done until we’re finally ready for the shoot date. We always make sure to shoot enough coverage to help us out later on in post, while still considering the quality of the cinematography.
Q: What’s on your Videography bucket list?
TS: You know, I’ve always loved SciFi and fantasy films, so if one of ya’ll could hurry up and hit us up for some fun little spacemen commercials or something, that’d be great! Scifi and fantasy stories are such underrated genres in my opinion and are definitely not being utilized enough in advertisements and commercials!
Q: If you weren’t doing Video, what other types of projects would you work on?
TS: Maybe I’d try my hand at production design. I truly appreciate a lot of Art Directors and their set dressers because of the attention to detail that some of them have. I look forward to clients requesting that type of production and creativity!
Q: What would you like to teach people about what you do?
TS: Oh! People try to schedule video and photo shoots in 30-minute time slots! Haha, it sometimes takes me 30 minutes just to set up. They are surprised when they come to understand that it doesn’t just take a boom and a camera to film them. Like I said, it’s great that you now have a tiny computer that can fit in your pocket, but if you’re searching for true quality that’ll really polish off your business’ image, then you shouldn’t be settling for anything less than NMCO.
Q: What can we expect to see from you?
TS: Quality smiles and attention to the client’s vision!
